collaboration with Dorothee Kreutzfeldt

as part of INFLUX/REFLUX/REFLEX curated by Nilo Casares and Bronwyn Lace
comissioned by the Embassy of Spain in South Africa (2008-2010)

The collaboration between Dorothee Kreutzfeldt (South Africa/Germany) and Marta Fernandez Calvo (Spain/Ireland) developed within the frame of a two year project, INFLUX/REFLUX/REFLEX, involving South African and Spanish artists (including Oscar Mora, Juan Linares, James Webb and Churchill Madikida) and curators (Nilo Casares and Bronwyn Lace). The project travelled between Richmond (Western Cape, South Africa) and the Nirox Foundation in 2008 (Johannesburg), Valencia in Spain in 2009 and Las Palmas on the Canary Islands in 2010. A final exhibition was held at the Johannesburg Art Gallery in October 2010. The curatorial frame was open ended and asked the artists to collaborate and respond to the itinerant contexts and involved institutions, with view to the spatial variables of each place.
